Instructions for writing a Press Release
A. Think of very interesting and clever title for the said art exhibition.
B. Around this title feed in even more interesting and clever themes around which said art exhibition has been conceived. Preferably choose themes, which have particular political resonance so that said art exhibition feels current and relevant 1.
C. Write said Press Release in both complicated and simple language. At once this said writing will appeal to both the novice and experienced art viewer. In the former the language will inspire viewer to think that they are ingesting culture and being intellectually stimulated. In the case of the latter the viewer will test their own critical faculties and reinforce their intellectual superiority 2.
D. As optional, but preferable, quote where relevant a philosopher or writer of particular stature 3.
E. As a denouement and for maintenance of Art Audience plug any future exhibitions planned 4.
1 Bradley, Frazer and Sahib have been brought together for their shared love of the flippant gesture. What seems to be works infused with irony are in fact plain and simple sincere offerings, unashamedly art without a political uniform.
2 Working within the accepted remits of fine art, it is the nomadic collaboration with Truck Art that fosters a potentially transgressive context.
3 Friedrich Nietzsche expressed in The Gay Science " No Altruism! I see in many men an excessive impulse and delight in wanting to be a function; they strive after it, and have the keenest scent for all those positions in which precisely they themselves can be functions."
4 The future program of the Truck begins with this first temporary exhibition at b-store and continues to the following venues; 21 st June, at Brewer Street NCP car park in central London, July, outside a friend's house, August, Blackpool promenade.
